proudly the fastest growing private practice in the southeastern United States.


RRPA manages inpatient psychiatry units and provides consult services to hospitals, operates

outpatient clinics, including a mental health urgent care and a specialty woman’s clinic. As part

of our mental health ecosystem, we employ psychiatrists, psychologists, psychiatric mental

health nurse practitioners, family nurse practitioners, physician assistants, licensed clinical social

workers, and licensed professional counselors. We also partner with community mental health

organizations, rural health organizations, correctional facilities, rehab facilities, and nursing

homes.

JOB DESCRIPTION

A Nurse Practitioner (NP) is an advanced practice registered nurse with specialized training in diagnosing and treating various health conditions. Functioning with a high degree of autonomy, the NP conducts comprehensive patient assessments, develops and implements individualized care plans, and collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes. With a holistic approach to care, the NP not only focuses on disease management but also emphasizes health promotion, disease prevention, and patient education. Serving as a bridge between patients and healthcare providers, Nurse Practitioners are pivotal in delivering accessible, efficient, and patient-centered care across various healthcare settings.

  1. Responsible for providing outpatient care to patients showing a change or decline in mental status, chronic or urgent medical conditions.
  2. Collaborate with inter-personal colleagues to formulate evidence-based treatment plans for acute and chronic psychiatric disorders.
  3. Perform patients’ histories and physicals, risk factor assessment, ordering of therapeutic and diagnostic tests; and attend to patient appointments.
  4. Prescribe medications following the clinic’s policy, formulary and relevant regulations of the state in which applying.
  5. Consult with physicians on cases that are beyond the scope of qualifications.
  6. Put all relevant patient data in medical records and case presentations.
  7. Formulate, execute and review healthcare education delivered to patients and families for diseases prevention.
  8. Ensure smooth communication with other health professionals for effective delivery of clinical services to patients.
  9. Provide consultation to the clinic’s nursing and medical staff for improvement in their work performance, which enhances overall quality service delivery of the clinic.
  10. Treats patients by utilizing psychotherapeutic methods and medications; discussing progress toward goals with patients; providing instructions; monitoring effect of medications; supervising staff provision of services.
  11. Assures quality and safe service for patients and staff by enforcing policies, procedures, standards, rules, CMS and private insurance requirements and legal regulations; participating in utilization reviews; remaining available for emergency situations in clinic.
  12. Provide medication management and education to those seen as patients to ensure excellent clinical outcomes.
  13. Functions within the guidelines of the Employment Agreement between Employee and Practice.
  14. Works toward providing higher level of services to patients seen in either the out-patient or in patient setting and capturing those billable hours in the documentation provided to the billing department.
  15. Comply with the guidelines set by the federal, State, and payor regulations in include all respective laws.
  16. Comply with the guidelines State Board of Medical Examiners and the State Board of Nursing for collaboration and quality assurance programs.


Requirements:

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must possess a minimum of a Master of Science in Nursing.
  • Those six years are composed of a 4-year undergraduate nursing program followed by a 2-year nurse practitioner master's program that includes psychiatric nursing.
  • Must have or pursuing a Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Certification from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).

Prior experience in providing mental health counseling services within a clinical setting

  • Must possess a State License to practice Nursing and it must be in good standing.
  • Must possess the knowledge base in health promotion maintenance, advanced pathophysiology, advanced health assessment and pharmacology for advanced practice nurses.
  • Must possess the following concepts: individual and family psychotherapy, psychiatric-mental health nursing across the lifespan, advanced assessment in psychiatric-mental health nursing and psychopharmacology.
