What are the primary responsibilities in the Windows System Administrator position?

As a Windows Systems Administrator at Rincon, your role will be to look for opportunities for modernization and improvement. At Rincon we focus on growing as a multidisciplinary team, with opportunities to specialize, or to expand into others areas such as Linux and development work. As a team we develop techniques, create solutions, and work through change to develop new methodologies together. This role is a great fit if you have experience and expertise in a specific area, but are looking to try new things.

  • Provide system support through troubleshooting problems, and documenting solutions for future resolution.
  • Proactively plan system upgrades, capacity improvements, and technology evolutions.
  • Execute monthly operations cycles, including system patching, monitoring, maintenance, and tuning (through automation where possible) to provide maximum service uptime.
  • Perform, optimize, and automate OS, software, and service installations.
  • Build systems and architectures that scale, including hybrid cloud and cloud ready applications and services.
  • Troubleshoot, maintain integrity and configure components along with implementing operating systems enhancements to improve reliability and performance.
  • Create and maintain operational, configuration, and other standard operating procedures.

What required background will make you successful?

  • Experience with Microsoft Windows Server, to include deployment, service migration, and lifecycle management.
  • Experience at the enterprise level with organizing and defining organizational units, and group policy objects.
  • Experience with storage platforms, such as SAN, NAS, as well as hyperconverged configurations.
  • Experience managing and implementing multisite file and share architectures.
  • Experience managing and resolving vendor OS and software patches and vulnerability notices.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI security clearance
  • US CITIZENSHIP REQUIRED

Preferred skills:

  • Experience implementing Microsoft environments at an enterprise level, meaning multisite, multitenant organizations.
  • Experience with disaster recovery process, including backup software and policies.
  • Experience with Python or PowerShell scripting.
  • Experience with a configuration management tool, such as Ansible.
  • Experience with supporting cloud environments, such as Microsoft 365
  • Ability to breakdown complex tasks into small wins to build a cadence of success.
  • The ideal candidate is able to communicate the roadmap and plan, and bring others along to support the future vision and architecture through mentoring, training, and positive support.
Desired Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or 5+ years of directly related experience
  • Vendor certification, such as Microsoft or Amazon.
  • CompTIA Security+ certification or DoD 8570 Level II equivalent within 90 days of hire
  • TS/SCI Clearance required and eligibility to obtain CI Poly
  • Ability to travel up to 10%

  • The employee will need to be able to lift/move/carry equipment as necessary (max 40 pounds)

This position can be located in our Denver, CO; Colorado Springs, CO; Chantilly, VA or our Tucson, AZ Headquarters.

Compensation: Starts at $82,000 + benefits. Total compensation is based on qualifications and experience.
