We are looking for a Light Construction HVAC Install/Equipment Start-Up Technician, who is looking for an exciting career with an industry leader that’s been in the business since 1929.

In this role, the Light Construction HVAC Install/Equipment Start-Up Technician will be performing basic HVAC equipment start-ups and will have a thorough understanding of the controls side with the ability to install and troubleshoot. When this person is not performing equipment start-ups or installing control wiring, they would be assisting with the installation of the ductwork, piping, and equipment for the job.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED FOR THE JOB:

· Install light commercial HVAC equipment and perform documented start-ups on the HVAC equipment.

  • Perform preventive maintenance on all types of HVAC equipment to verify proper current operation and to watch for potential problems on behalf of our customers.
  • Act as a trusted adviser to recommend appropriate repairs and upgrades to our customers.
  • Discuss value, and advantages of recommended appropriate repairs and upgrades.
  • Build strong customer relationships and build knowledge and understanding of new and existing customer needs/expectations.
  • Understand and have installation and troubleshooting knowledge of the following:
  • Heat Pumps
  • Split systems
  • Roof Top units
  • Hydronic systems
  • Geothermal units
  • Gas furnaces and boilers
  • Oil furnaces and boilers
  • Water heaters of all varieties
  • Perform related work as assigned.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

· Minimum 5 years’ experience specific to the HVAC industry.

· EPA certification.

· Knowledge of the theory, methods, practices, tools and equipment of the trade.

· Ability to read, understand and work from specifications and drawings.

· Solid understanding of control systems with the capability to install and troubleshoot.

· Ability to perform HVAC equipment start-ups and document all required data.

· Ability to stand, bend, stoop, reach and lift heavy objects.

· Willingness to learn.

· Ability to work as a team and flexible.

· Willing to mentor junior Technicians.
