Job Title: Instructional Assistant
Job Classification: Non-licensed Instructional
Reports to: Building Principal
Work Schedule: School Calendar / 7:45-4:15
General Description:
The Instructional Assistant will facilitate classroom while certified teacher is streaming in to provide the curriculum.
Primary Responsibilities
· Establish and enforce rules for behavior and procedures for maintaining order within your classroom
· Work collaboratively with the certified teacher that is streaming content
· Support students academically as needed
· Instruct students individually and in groups
· Aide in homework and assignments
· Collaborate with parents or guardians, teachers, social workers, and administration in order to resolve students’ behavior and academic issues.
· Enforce administration policies and rules governing students
· Other responsibilities related to the position as assigned by building administrator
Requirements:Essential Skills and Abilities
· Ability to use technology for documentation and preparation of professional materials
· Ability to teach and assist students in the use of computer applications
· Ability to prioritize tasks, allocate time, and maintain schedule flexibility
