We are currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our Building Design Group in our Fairfax, VA office. We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer with the ability to complete the design and construction administration for small to medium sized projects, as well as work as part of a larger design team for large projects. Designs must meet energy and sustainable design targets and criteria. Coordination with other disciplines and project stakeholders will be required.

Responsibilities:

  • Development of plans, sections, schedules, details, controls, cost estimates, and specifications
  • Mechanical system selection, energy and life cycle cost analysis, knowledge of relevant codes and guidelines, sustainable design, interdisciplinary coordination, and communication with project stakeholders are key considerations
  • Senior Engineer will be responsible for developing control strategies, calculations, system concepts, layout, and design, equipment selection, as well as oversight of junior staff

Requirements:

Applicants must possess the following:

  • 3-6 years of relevant experience
  • Knowledge of a wide range of mechanical system designs including DX packaged systems, hydronic systems, chilled water plants, heating water plants, and plumbing is required
  • B.S. in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering
  • Professional Engineer License in Virginia (or ability to obtain in VA)
  • U.S. Citizen
