Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Administer chemotherapy treatments in accordance with established protocols and policies.
  • Monitor patients for any adverse reactions or complications during and after chemotherapy administration.
  • Assess patient's physical and emotional status, and provide appropriate nursing interventions and support.
  • Monitor and manage chemotherapy drug inventory and ensure proper storage and handling.
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients.
  • Document patient assessments, treatments, and outcomes accurately and timely.
  • Provide patient and family education regarding chemotherapy treatments, side effects, and self-care measures.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and provide input on patient care decisions.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory and safety standards.

Qualifications

  • Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in chemotherapy administration.
  • Chemotherapy certification (ONS certification) preferred.
  • Strong clinical skills and knowledge of oncology nursing principles and practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and members of the healthcare team.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Flexible schedule to accommodate patient needs and departmental demands.
