Traffic Control Maintenance Person

Dakota Traffic Services is a traffic control and pavement marking company. Are you looking for a part-time job (around 21hrs/wk) with flexible hours? We are looking for a responsible person from the Mitchell area to fill our part time Traffic Control Maintenance Person position for the 2024 construction season. Project location is on Hwy 37 on the North edge of Mitchell.

Job Responsibilities

• Drive thru the project daily to check that all traffic control devices (cones, barrels, signs) are placed properly and make any corrections.
• Document corrections made in a daily log.
• Keep in communication with DTS contact, SDDOT contact and project foreman when needed.
• Adhere to all safety policies and procedures.

Job Requirements

• Be available to perform duties 7 days/wk.(DTS would work with employee to cover occasional days they needed off)
• Be able to perform these duties after severe weather.
• Be able to lift at least 70lbs.
• Must possess a valid drivers license and have a decent driving record.
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
• Must be responsible and dependable.
• No experience required. Will train.

DTS would provide a pickup truck to use and we would train for the position. Average 20-25 hrs/wk. Hours are flexible. $22.38/hr. Job would begin approx 4/1/24 and last until late fall and resume again the following year. Ideal candidate lives near the project and in addition to the normal daily checks, has the flexibility to do maintenance at unplanned times and/or during severe weather. EEO/AA Employer.
