**Job Description**

We are looking to add to our team in our Muscle Shoals location! Teamwork is a big component of how Pet Depot does business. Simply put, we partner to help each other, we cheer our successes, and we look for ways to help when needed. Shift Managers are responsible for the supervising the sales associates and must be able to delegate duties. Shift Managers are directly supervised by the Assistant Manager and the Store Manager.

**Customer Service** ?

* Help to ensure customers experience at the store is an enjoyable one. ?

* Assist customers with products, carry-outs, phone calls or any other service needed. ?

* Be educated to in turn educate the customer about live animals we sell and the extra items that will be necessary for their care and health. Add-on item suggestions are important for the customer in caring for their pets as well as helping to increase store sales. ?

* Must help resolve problems that arise with customers and understand when you need to turn the issue over to higher management. ?

* Operate registers as assigned- must be accurate with math and currency

**Management Duties** ?

* Must communicate clearly and timely with other managers, sales associates, groomers, Corporate, and customers. ?

* Must ensure that delegated duties are performed satisfactorily and resolve the issue in a professional way if not. ?

* Responsible for help train all employees to Pet Depot standards ?

* As assigned, place certain merchandise orders. ?

* While you are the supervisor on duty, you are responsible for ensuring the stores daily operations and activities are performed by Pet Depot guidelines, which include the following: Ordering, Stocking and Merchandising ?

* Use sales reports and company guidelines to complete all store ordering. ?

* Unpack, price and stock all merchandise in a timely manner after shipment arrival ?

* Report any Not on Files to Corporate for Item entry ?

* At all times be aware of empty spots on the shelves, expired products, and keeping merchandise pulled to the front of the shelves. ?

* Communicate suggestions or issues with your supervisor.

**Cleaning and Live Animal Care** ?

* As assigned, clean aquariums and cages of live animals. ?

* Ensure that all live animals and fish are fed and watered daily ?

* Report any sick pet to your direct supervisor so proper care can be administered. ?

* Be able to handle live animals Opening of the Retail Store ?

* Must activate registers and prepare cash drawers. ?

* Take deposits from previous sales to the a bank as store is properly manned ?

* Ensure all opening duties set by Corporate are completed correctly and efficiently Closing of the Retail Store ?

* Count, close and post register transactions at closing. ?

* Prepare daily reports and deposits. ?

* Perform a walk-thru of the store to check for appearance and cleanliness for the next business day ?

* Ensure all closing duties set by Corporate, are completed before clocking out for the day.
