The Women’s Medicine Unit at Inova Fairfax Medical Campus is seeking an energetic, service oriented Registered Nurse Fellow (experienced RN interested in changing specialty) to work on a fast-paced Women's Medicine Unit Unit for women ages 18 and up. It is a great opportunity to see a variety of patients and expand fundamental clinical skills!

Schedule: Full-time, night shift 7pm-7am with 3 x 12 hour shifts per week
Sign-On/Relocation Bonus Information: This position is eligible for a competitive Sign-On Bonus. Candidates who are relocating 50 miles or further are also eligible for relocation assistance.
Our brand new, 30-bed unit is located in the Inova Women’s Hospital, the only dedicated women’s hospital in Northern Virginia. On this unit, you will see a variety of women’s general medicine patients. The Women’s Medicine Unit is a sister unit to our nationally recognized Women’s Surgical Specialty Unit. Our usual nurse to patient ratio is four or five patients to one RN.
Patients on this unit include:
- General medicine
- Sickle Cell patients
- End of life
- Telemetry and continuous Pulse Oximetry monitoring
- Laparoscopic surgery
- Surgical overflow from the Women’s Surgical Specialty Unit
The Inova RN Fellow:
The RN Fellowship program will develop the necessary clinical skills to practice nursing in a competent manner within a specified service line. The RN Fellow, in an atmosphere of acceptance and support, will learn under the direct supervision of an experienced RN and through various other training formats.
The RN Fellow participates in learning new knowledge, developing new skills, and meeting program objectives to be able to practice in assigned patient care delivery setting utilizing and applying new knowledge. The RN Fellow will be given time to learn, opportunities to practice, and mentoring to imbed the newly learned skills and knowledge.
Communicates effectively with patients and families, team members and medical providers. Creates a collaborative team working environment. Has respect for and understanding of clinical disciplines. Uses a focused, integrated approach toward improving patient outcomes and the patient experience of care delivery.

Requirements:
Required Experience: A minimum of 1 year of Registered Nurse or RN changing specialty area of practice
General Requirements:
Proficient in English, strong verbal, and written communication skills
Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to display a caring demeanor towards others
Values team collaboration
Proficient computer skills required
Minimum Education Requirement: BSN from an accredited school of nursing. If RN has an Associates Degree (ADN); must complete BSN within 24 months of start date.
Minimum Licensure/ Certification Requirement:
- Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Virginia or hold a privilege to practice in the State of Virginia under the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification from the American Heart Association required upon start
