DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will provide construction and maintenance work within the entire Airbase ensuring its operations are conducted efficiently and effectively. Work is performed in the electrical, carpentry, plumbing, painting, and masonry trades. You will perform skilled and semi-skilled work in the repair and maintenance of buildings, fixtures, machinery, and equipment. Some of your duties include performing rough and finish carpentry work on ceilings, walls, windows, and doors; preparing and painting interior and exterior surfaces; installing and repairing various fixtures including sinks, and faucets; and repairing electrical equipment. Your duties will require you to operate and maintain both manual and power tools of the trade on a regular basis.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
  • Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
  • Travel as needed. The hours and travel requirements may change based on operational need.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Two years of experience as a Maintenance Repairman 1; or
  • Four years of experience in building and plant maintenance work, which has involved at least two of the building, electrical, or mechanical trades; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training that affords the applicant with the Required Knowledges, Skills, and Abilities.

Special Requirement:
  • Possession of a valid PA non noncommercial Class C driver's license or equivalent.
Additional Requirements:
  • You must be able to report to Horsham, Pennsylvania to complete job duties.
  • You must possess a valid federal or state-issued photo ID and pass a favorable NCIC screening for admittance to Horsham Airbase.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Preferred Qualifications (not required):

  • Completion of formal training in a skilled building, electrical, or mechanical trade
  • Experience in building and plant maintenance work involving at least two of the building, electrical, or mechanical trades
  • Experience in commercial carpentry
  • Experience in the plumbing trade
  • Experience working in the electrical trade field
  • Experience working in the maintenance and repair of refrigeration and/or HVAC systems
  • Experience in commercial maintenance of buildings and equipment
  • Experience with 3-phase wiring to include emergency generators, Automatic Transfer Switches, switch gears and 3-phase panels
