Adult Residential Therapist Responsibilities and Qualifications: This job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties, or responsibilities that are required of the employee. Case Management:

  • QMHPs are responsible for the management of their cases and caseloads.
  • QMHP will manage their caseload size in such a way that: They consistently meet the productivity requirement; They provide clinical services at a high standard through a Pathways of Care and Team system.
  • QMHPs will manage client cases through an episode of care process that is determined by the client's Pathway of Care. The ongoing management of the cases will be documented and determined through 90-day updates of the comprehensive assessment and service plan.
  • QMHPs will participate in the ongoing development and implementation of an effective continuum of care that ensures that KBBH clients received optimum cost-effective mental health services delivered in a timely manner.

Clinical Records:

  • QMHPs are responsible to see that their clinical records meet KBBH, local state, and federal requirements. All clinical records are kept current. All required client identifying information is present. All required client identifying information is present. There is a completed intake and evaluation including a DSM 5 diagnosis and treatment plan for every case that is opened.
  • Every case has an individualized treatment plan that complies with current state regulations. Complete written progress notes are developed for each individual service encounter provided and for every significant client encounter. Cases are officially closed, with all required documentation completed, within 14 days of termination. All written 90-day and annual reviews are completed on schedule.

Client Satisfaction:

  • QMHPs will strive to consistently provide the highest quality of services possible to all clients with a spirit of respect and dignity for the clients they serve.
  • QMHPs will rely on feedback-informed care to measure satisfaction in consumers.

Professional Behavior:

  • QMHPs will facilitate positive working relationships between KBBH and referring agencies, community professionals, and clients.
  • Demonstrates, models, and facilitates excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Meets KBBH expectations for number of hours worked each week. Meets or exceeds KBBH expectations for attendance.
  • Demonstrates a positive attitude about KBBH and job responsibilities. Maintains and fosters positive working relationships with co-workers.
  • Maintains ethical conduct as set forth by professional standards.
  • Makes appropriate referrals when necessary.
  • Work as a team player to meet the overall goals and values of KBBH. Consistently maintains punctuality to appointments and meetings.

Adult Residential Therapist Education: Must meet requirements to qualify as a QMHP. QMHPs shall meet the following minimum qualifications and shall hold one of the following educational degrees:

  • Graduate degree in Psychology.
  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing and licensed by the state of Oregon.
  • Graduate degree in social work.
  • Graduate degree in a behavioral science field.
  • Graduate degree in recreational, music or art therapy.
  • Bachelor’s degree in occupational therapy and licensed by the State of Oregon.

Adult Residential Therapist Experience: Experience to demonstrate the competencies to identify precipitating events:

  • Cultural responsiveness, effective communication, care coordination.
  • Inter- and intra-agency collaboration.
  • Working alliances with individuals, suicide and other risk assessments and interventions.
  • Creating and monitoring safety plans, completion of bio-psycho-social assessments and additional assessments.
  • Updating assessments when clinical circumstances change.
  • Generating a differential DSM diagnosis, prioritizing health, wellness, and recovery needs.
  • Writing measurable service objectives, creating, monitoring, and revising service plans.
  • Delivery of mental health and recovery treatment services in individual, group, and family formats within their scope.
  • Gathering and recording data that measures progress toward the service objectives and documenting services, supports, and other information supportive of the service plan.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: If the employee is an unlicensed therapist or is not actively in the licensing process, employee must meet the requirements to become MHACBO QMHP Certified and maintain certification. This must be maintained for the length of employment.

  • Valid Oregon driver’s license with insurable driving record.
  • Personal automobile insurance is required if clients are transported, or any agency business is conducted using personal vehicle.
  • Authorization to work in the United States
