Responsibilities
Position Reports to:
Manager, Accounting Policy
This is a HYBRID role.
Position Responsibilities:
- Monitor, research and interpret new U.S. GAAP pronouncements/SEC reporting requirements; assess and document the impact on SCA’s financial statements and accounting policies
- Prepare internal/external reporting and transactional white papers and memorandums
- Consult with internal and external stakeholders, assisting SCA accounting teams and new and emerging service lines with interpreting complex accounting topics; develop processes and policies that align with US GAAP
- Perform due diligence on potential transactions and assist Development, Operations and Legal teams with deal structure considerations
- Review key legal agreements for potential transactions and provide timely feedback to internal and external Legal teams to ensure proper accounting treatment
- Assist with business combination, purchase accounting and accounting de-integration processes
- Assist in the preparation of long-lived asset and other-than-temporary impairment analyses, including coordinating with financial and operations teammates to understand business plans and the impact on future performance prospects
- Develop and maintain solid working relationships with fellow team members and support services departments
- Continuously challenge resources and procedures to ensure effective and efficient reporting processes and implement improvements, as appropriate
- Develop, implement and maintain procedures and controls to ensure the timely accumulation of information necessary for financial reporting functions
- Work closely with the external auditors and assist in the coordination of audits and quarterly reviews
- Other accounting and finance special projects, as needed
Qualifications
- BS in Accounting required
- 2-5 years of experience preferred
- CPA (or working towards) preferable; relevant experience will be considered
- Proficiency in Microsoft: Excel, Outlook, Word
