Description:

Position Summary:

Responsible for ensuring the efficient expedition of patient discharges and increase overall sales volume as well as new patient referrals.


Essential Functions and Job Responsibilities:

  • Intake home infusion orders from hospital ensuring the collection of accurate and complete information from case manager.
  • Obtain and handle all necessary paperwork required to bill on all home infusion patients.
  • Set up and educate patients, their families and/or caregivers on home infusion therapy. Provide the patient with a seamless transition from the hospital to home.
  • Serve as a liaison between the patient and other members of the Health Care team when required.
  • Learn, understand, and maintain a working knowledge of products and services offered by the company.
  • Keep management apprised of patient, payer or process changes or issues.
  • Work with a designated Sales Representatives to increase referral business and market share.
  • Establish and develop business relationships through contact with hospital case managers and physicians in assigned hospital(s), territory/market segment.
  • Counsels with the patient and family/significant others on nursing, teaching and related needs.
  • Develops a cooperative relationship and communicates effectively and professionally with physicians.
  • Be knowledgeable of and responsible for the current AdaptHealth policies and procedures that apply to this position.
  • Identifies, contacts, and builds relationships with referral sources. Maintains ongoing business with referral sources in the medical community.
  • Builds long-term, trusting relationships with referral sources.
  • Promotes products and services provided to all health care professionals that they may encounter daily.
  • Educates referral sources on product guidelines, documentation, and the use of products and services provided by AdaptHealth,
  • Collaborates with intake, customer service, document collection as well as other functional areas within the company to help process orders and drive sales growth.
  • Communicates and explains Medicare and private insurance procedures, pricing information, and product information to referral sources.
  • Generates a steady stream of referrals, selling all offered services, to meet sales growth goals for this position and territory.
  • Assures physician approval of plans for continuity of medical care.
  • Participates in obtaining MD orders/signatures for appropriate documentation and original prescriptions while onsite when the Intake team is unable to do so.
  • Participates in coordinating company's services with services of other community agencies.
  • Attends pertinent continuing education programs other than routine in-services and shares information with staff.
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local rules and regulations, and company policies in all patient care aspects.
  • Addresses and corrects all patient concerns.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and function within the guidelines of HIPAA.
  • Complete assigned compliance training and other educational programs as required.
  • Maintain compliant with AdaptHealth's Compliance Program.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

  • Administer infusion nursing care; instruct, motivate, and assists patients in managing their health status
  • Strong ability to administer PIVs, Ports, and PICCs.

  • Computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
Requirements:

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing, BSN preferred
  • Two (2) years of home infusion experience.
  • Must have a valid and unrestricted driver's license.
  • Must have a valid and unrestricted RN license from the state in which he/she would be practicing.
  • Certified Registered Nurse Intravenous (CRNI) preferred
  • Current CPR certification

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • Must be able to bend, stoop, stretch, stand, and sit for extended periods.
  • Must be able to perform one-man CPR.
  • Ability to perform repetitive motions of wrists, hands and/or fingers due to extensive computer use.
  • Work environment may be stressful at times, as overall office activities and work levels fluctuate.
  • Subject to long periods of sitting and exposure to computer screen.
  • May be exposed to hazardous materials, loud noise, extreme heat/cold, direct, or indirect contact with airborne, bloodborne, and/or other potentially infectious pathogen
  • May be exposed to angry or irate customers, patients, or referral sources.
  • Ability to utilize a personal computer and other office equipment.
  • Assist in pulling a patient with a weight of approximately 130 pounds to a sitting position.
  • Must be able to lift 45 pounds as needed.
  • Physical and mental ability to provide clinical assessments
  • Requires travel throughout service area and use of personal vehicles
  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and written with internal and external customers with the ability to demonstrate empathy, compassion, courtesy, and respect for privacy.
  • Must be able to access the patient's residence.
