Job Description
Position Purpose
The Sr. Manager, Supply Chain Special Projects is responsible for leading the development and implementation of strategic projects for Sustainability and Decarbonization. This position will also lead the Fleet Optimization operations which is responsible for the performance of all material handling equipment including forklifts, yard hostler, floor sweepers, and people lifts (“the Fleet”) for all CHEP-operated sites in the US including CHEP Services, Pallecon and CHEP Automotive.
Oversees and coordinates with equipment manufacturers and maintenance providers to ensure the performance and maintenance condition of Fleet assets throughout their service life.
Location: Field Based - USA;
Travel Requirements: 50%

Major/Key Accountabilities
Project Management (50%)
Facilitates strategic deployment of Sustainability and Decarbonization related programs for fleet optimization.
Central coordination and administrative management (through Brambles’ project management tool, Wave) of sustainability-related initiatives related to operations across the US Supply Chain network, in particular those included in US’s Decarbonisation & Zero Waste Roadmap (such as FLT electrification, renewable energy, Service Centre Waste Energy Analysis, etc.).
Leading and coordinating data collection for baselining of relevant sustainability-related initiatives across US Operations and collaboration/reporting with our Canadian and European counterparts.
Keeping up to date with the latest legislation regarding sustainability requirements (carbon, waste, water, circularity, etc.) and evaluating the impact on the Supply Chain
Project Manage support for specific Decarbonization projects and industry collaboration opportunities such as Alternative Fuels, new types of engines and any other options to reduce our CO2 emissions footprint like Platooning, driver efficiency trainings, etc.
Responsible for all fleet related issues logs and corrective actions as well as liaison for corrective action implementation.
Liaising with the Transformation Office to ensure projects progress in line with Brambles’ Shaping our Future Framework.
Fleet Optimization Oversight (50%)
Responsible for operational cost and performance of the Fleet, providing strategic & tactical guidance to all sites within job scope.
SME for all types of equipment in the Fleet
Collaborates with engineering to create and deploy effective preventative maintenance programs for the fleet.
Monitors and evaluates fleet productivity and utilization.
Support operations and finance for budget development ($10+M per year)
Provide long range asset planning for optimum life cycle costs of the Fleet.
Works with procurement to lead bidding and vendor selection to achieve the best pricing, terms, and lead-time for Fleet assets, maintenance, and parts,
Coordinates with other teams for accurate and timely reports.
Recommends multi-million-dollar commitments on equipment purchases/leases; and contract negotiation with manufacturers and maintenance providers.
Directs the activities for maintenance and spare part programs.
Level approver on all maintenance spending for the Fleet

Ensuring the best possible performance of contract maintenance providers
Working in a matrix environment to ensure success of program, interacting with multiple levels including CHEP leadership team, Territory leaders, Supply Chain Finance and Procurement teams

Directs the activities for maintenance and spare part programs.
Contract negotiation with manufacturers and maintenance providers

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or multiple years of experience in maintenance and or fleet operations
Alternatively, manufacturing, warehouse, or distribution experience with at least one role in a managerial capacity.
Must have proven experience and ability to plan, budget (at least 10M), schedule, and supervise multiple projects from concept to completion.
Applies knowledge of mechanical fundamentals, maintenance, diagnosis, and repair of forklift and yard hostler vehicle fleet operation
Experience
Experience with logistics and supply chain industries
Experience creating Power BI Dashboards
Database management or report creation from raw data
Must have proven experience and ability to plan, budget (at least 10M), schedule, and supervise multiple projects from concept to completion.
Must have demonstrated success of developing and leading cross-functional project teams.
Must have excellent working knowledge of DOT compliance requirements.
Applies legal, regulatory and safety compliance knowledge to reduce risk to company.
