General Summary of Position:

The telemetry optimization analyst will be responsible for observing data trends, making recommendations for threshold changes and monitoring improvements and enacting Zabbix configuration changes to accomplish those improvements.

The role will involve a strong attention to detail and an eye for determining trends and evaluating creative solutions to monitoring problems as well as using the available tools to generate meaningful reporting and analysis.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Daily analysis and reporting on previous days data trends
• Review of high alert volume customer monitoring solutions and thresholds
• Zabbix trigger logic and threshold updates to fine-tune monitoring
• Data collection outage analysis and RFO preparation
• Weekly reporting on improvement recommendations
• High level vendor-specific template updates to improve general alerting profile

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• 1-2 years in a technical support related role, or equivalent experience.
• Understanding of networking standards, OSI model, subnetting and routing protocols.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex issues efficiently.
• Proficiency with Python, Javascript, or similar coding languages.
• Experience with trend analysis and data review.
• Experience and foundational understanding of networking concepts.
• Understanding of monitoring, alerting and telemetry concepts.
• Very strong written communication skills.
• A "constant improvement" mind-set.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Strong knowledge of SD-WAN technologies and protocols, such as MPLS, BGP, OSPF, VPN, QoS, and traffic engineering.
• Experience managing and troubleshooting firewall solutions, such as Velocloud, Palo Alto, Fortinet, or Juniper.
• CCNA, Network+, or equivalent certification or higher.
• APl/scripting experience for making large scale/repetitive changes.
• Prior experience working in Zabbix.
• Project planning and execution experience.
• Experience working in a NOC and/or a data science position.
