The Laundry Attendant is responsible for the cleaning of all in-house laundry. May serve as back up for janitorial duties.
About the role:
- Collects and sorts in-house laundry items according to color, fabric, dirt content and washing requirements.
- Regulate washing machine and dryer use. Maintains an appropriate volume of soap, detergent, water, bleach and other activities.
- Loads articles to be cleaned in washing machines and dryers.
- Sorts and folds articles after drying cycles. Store clean linens in linen closet for client use.
- Maintains and cleans laundry room; including emptying trash, sanitizing surfaces and mopping the floor.
- Serves as a backup for general janitorial duties for the women's shelter as assigned.
- Follows and complies with all safety and work rules and regulations. Maintains departmental housekeeping standards.
Education: No specific education level required.
Experience: Six months or more experience in laundry or custodial work.
Certifications: Valid Wisconsin Driver's License with clearance to drive by The Salvation Army's insurance carrier preferred by not required.
