Position Overview:

As part of the Digital Marketing team, the Social Media Intern will support project coordination and content creation across digital channels. The Social Media intern will be responsible for the end-to-end workflows for the annual Summer Sweepstakes (a cross-channel campaign) as well as creative writing and photo/video curation for the "always on" Social Media editorial. The Intern will have the opportunity to participate in strategic planning sessions, build relationships with peers, and support reporting and analysis as well as other special projects as assigned by the Sr. Manager, Social Media.

The Social Media Intern will routinely work in Social Media platforms, including, but not limited to: YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, X and LinkedIn.

Where you will work:

  • This opportunity offers the flexibility to work on a hybrid schedule, with two days per week in the Falls Church, VA office.

A Day in the Life of the Social Media Intern:

  • Research, concept and create B2C Social Media content to Social Media channel specifications. Support content approval processes. Content Themes may include: DE&I, streaming and entertainment, brand and partner priorities, and community.
  • Prepare and analyze social media metrics and help identify strategies to optimize performance, as needed.
  • Stay up-to-date with modern social media trends, best practices, specifications and emerging platforms.
  • Participate in planning sessions to generate new ideas and trends to apply to content, campaigns and Social Media-first brand initiatives.
  • Support the end-to-end process of the National sweepstakes, including cross-channel project coordination, digital creative development, Social Media editorial, email marketing and website content, campaign launch and reporting analysis.

What You Bring to the Table:

  • Proficiency in MS Office applications and Google Suite.
  • Experience or completed coursework in long and short form creative writing.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and in time-sensitive situations; aptitude to coordinate multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the various forms of photo/video editing tools (e.g., Canva, Capcut, Adobe Creative Suite, Final Cut Pro, etc.).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Education:

  • Must be pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or related field.

Compensation:

The base compensation for this position is $20.00 per hour. The base pay represents the low and high end of the hiring range for this job.
