Assistant Kitchen Manager

We are seeking an Assistant Kitchen Manager to join our team! You will lead and coordinate activities of workers engaged in preparing and serving food. This position will report directly to the General Manager. Restaurant opens in May, and job will start then.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the daily operation of food service staff, 
• Helps to oversee training of new kitchen employees. Creates a positive, productive, and empowering/motivating work environment.
• Monitor quality of products and services produced
• Adjust daily schedule for shift personnel to ensure optimal efficiency
• Manage inventory of ingredients and supplies
• Maintain health standards for raw and finished products
• Ensures that all equipment is kept clean and kept in excellent working condition through personal inspection and by following the restaurant's preventative maintenance programs.
• Ensures food/products/orders are consistently and accurately prepared and served according to restaurant's recipes, portioning, cooking and serving standards. This includes making sure all weights and measurements are accurate, for all recipe items.
• Checks and maintains proper food holding and refrigeration temperature control points along with proper dating procedures and product rotation.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in varied kitchen positions including food preparation, line cook, fry cook. Prefer prior pizza restaurant experience.
• Knowledge of common food safety practices
• Strong leadership qualities
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication skills
• Be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
• Must have Food Service Management Certificate within 7 days of hiring.
