About this job
Provides clinical expertise and education/staff development for Labor and Delivery and Maternal Newborn. Collaborates with the Labor and Delivery and Maternal Newborn leaders, physicians and staff to provide leadership working to improve the quality of patient care and improve patient, physician, and employee satisfaction.
Educates staff to competence according to standards, regulations, and best practice using a variety of teaching methods. Facilitates achievement of staff role clarity, professional role confidence, and proficiency. Operates as a change agent in the practice and learning environment
Required Skills
- Nursing and education theory knowledge
- Refined written and verbal communication.
- Current knowledge of trends in nursing practice
- Clinical competence
- Ability to plan, organize, implement, and evaluate.

Required Experience
- B.S.N. Degree
- Current California RN License
- Evidence of self-development
- Minimum three years clinical experience in perinatal and maternal childcare.
- Experience in labor and delivery, maternal childcare, triaging, and care of high-risk maternal patient.
- LA City Fire Card within six (6) months of employment
- BLS
- ACLS within 3 months of hire
- NRP
- Certification in Advanced Fetal Monitoring and limited OB ultrasound within 6 months of hire
Preferred:
- M.S.N. Degree
- Certification in Nursing Professional Development
- BLS, ACLS , NRP, and PALS instructor
