Job Summary
Responsible for loading or transferring bulk products such as liquid lysine, prosin, and other products into semi tankers/trailers or hoppers. Operates semi-trucks to move trailers/tankers containing bulk products.
Essential Job Functions
- Load bulk lysine powder products and liquid Prosin into semi tankers
- Transfer dry bulk loading product into silos and loading hoppers
- Operate and move bulk loading trailers using a semi-truck
- Monitor and operate assigned process equipment using HMI software;
- Enters bulk loading information and data into SAP and other computer systems to ensure accurate and timely records
- Collect samples of liquid product and deliver to the quality control lab for testing
- Accurately and legibly record sample and process data
- Verify and ensure accurate quantity of stabilizing agent is administered to liquid product
- Make adjustments to liquid product so concentration is within specifications
- Ability to complete HAZPOWER training and respond to and clean hazardous chemical releases as needed
- Operates forklift and other heavy machinery as needed
- Assist other operators as needed
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- Performs other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Knowledge and ability to operate semi-trucks, load and transfer bulk products into semi tankers
- Ability to operator forklifts and other heavy machinery
- Computer skills, i.e. Microsoft excel, SAP, HMI
- Excellent communication skills
- HAZMAT and HAZWOPER knowledge and experience
- Basic mathematics
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Production knowledge and experience
Physical Demands & Work Environment
- Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm, however business needs may require additional hours worked;
- This position works in a warehouse, office and manufacturing environment, which includes indoors and outdoors, hot/cold, dusty/wet indoor, and exposure to all weather conditions while loading semi-trailers
- Operate semi-trucks, forklifts, and other heavy machinery
- Ability to remain in a stationary position up to 30% of shift;
- Ability to frequently walk extended distances, ascend/descend stairs and ladders, stand for extended periods, works at heights,
- Occasional confined space entry
- Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly
- This position does not supervise the work of others
- Travel is not expected for this position
- Must be able to wear full-face respirator and protective equipment for responding to chemical releases. This includes minimal facial hair in order to ensure proper fit in of respirator in accordance with OSHA regulations. Must complete annual medical monitoring program, including pulmonary function testing.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma / GED
- Valid driver’s license required
- Working knowledge and experience operating semi-trucks, computer Skills, bulk loading experience, HAZMAT experience, and production experience preferred
