Position Outline

The estimator position handles managing, keeping, and growing the assignments that they estimate. The estimator should be familiar with the rebuild process in order to explain and present The ServiceMaster by Singer services to prospective customers, subcontractors, and staff. It will be the Estimator’s responsibility to scope the job, write the estimate and obtain approval for the Scope of Work.

Scoping loss

New rebuild lead comes in – Estimator calls homeowner to confirm or schedule appointment for initial scope and photograph Inspect and scope the loss. If the assignment is a large loss, you will schedule a Project Manager to meet you on site to work together to put together the most accurate estimate possible.

 

Writing Xactimate and Symbility Platforms

Complete estimate using our standard format and best practices. The estimator will work with an insurance carrier for approval. If revisions are requested either support your estimate with the needed documentation or send a revision to them within 24 hours of request.

 

Approved Scope of Work

Follow up with customer about signing and returning our contract. Some instances the estimator will need to return and discuss the approved scope of work in detail with the customer on larger or complex jobs. It is the responsibility of the Estimator to sign the job.

 

Pre-Production

Estimate will hand the job off to the assigned Field Project Manager. The Estimate will check progress of repairs, troubleshoot problems, help the team develop solutions, visit the job site if needed and keep a positive relationship with the customer. Prepare and upload supplements with supporting documentation.

 

Qualifications Include:

1. Demonstrated Xactimate and Symbility expertise.

2. Project Management / Sales Experience – Restore 365, DASH, XactAnalysis Software programs preferred.

3. Experience Estimating Construction or Remodeling.

4. Ability to use Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and Outlook e-mail.

5. Ability with Mobile Applications,

6. History of success achieving deadlines, Budget expectations and Customer service

Personality Traits and Skills Needed

1. Communications skills: Where you communicate with people, the other party knows what to expect and what is needed from them and you.

2. Crisis Management: Flexibility in quickly moving from one task to another, or changing tasks based on priority.

3. Customers Service: Understand what they want and why. Manage the customer expectations of what can happen within the time asked.

4. Documentation: Skilled in Documentation of work produced using Written, Verbal, and Photographic methods.

5. Ethical Leader: Make decisions and act in an Ethical manner.

6. Finances: Know your numbers on your assignments, make sure other do the same

7. Insurance Carrier Perception: Understand how what we need and want affects the carrier.

8. Problem Solving and Solution Implementation: You have to create the solution and make sure when the solution is implanted it solves the problem.

9. Team Development: A team can develop so much more than one individual.

10. Time Management: Use your time wisely, the day can slip away without a plan.

11. Urgency: A sense of urgency is needed because we work in a fast-paced environment with changing needs and wants.
