Job Description

Northern Virginia Eye is currently hiring an Ophthalmic Technician / Assistant to join our team. We are an ophthalmology practice in Fairfax, serving the eye care needs of the surrounding Northern Virginia community.

The Ophthalmic Technician / Assistant supports clinical engagement with patients during office visits and assists with screening, clinical testing, and patient education. Prior eye doctors office or medical office experience a plus. Can train highly qualified candidates.

The ideal candidate:

- Is able to multi-task and prioritize workload

- Has a strong interest in the healthcare / medical fields

- Candidates with prior eye technician experience, or in the process of applying to graduate programs in the healthcare / medical fields, or with prior college coursework in the sciences, are encouraged to apply.

Job Detials:

- Assist with patient pre-screening

- Assist with clinical testing, to include visual fields, OCT, pachymetry, lensometer, refractions, keratometry, topography

- Assist with medication refill requests, prior authorizations, and referrals

- Educates patients by reinforcing medical and surgical plans

Required Qualifications

- High School graduate or GED equivalent

- Strong communication skills, reliable, and mature

Job Type: Availability for full time or part time hours

Pay: From $17 to $23 per hour. Salary commensurate with experience.
