Job Description

Our client is seeking a highly skilled CNC Machinist with 5 or more years of experience to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of CNC machining processes, programming, and setup, along with a keen eye for detail and a dedication to producing high-quality components.

Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate CNC machines to perform precision machining operations according to blueprints, specifications, and work instructions.
  • Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and GD&T (geometric dimensioning and tolerances) specifications to ensure accurate production of components.
  • Program CNC machines using CAM software (e.g., MasterCam, SolidWorks) to generate tool paths and optimize machining processes.
  • Perform routine maintenance on CNC machines, including cleaning, lubricating, and replacing worn or damaged parts as needed.
  • Monitor machine performance and make necessary adjustments to ensure production goals are met while maintaining quality standards.
  • Conduct in-process inspection of machined components using precision measuring tools (e.g., micrometers, calipers, height gauges) to verify conformance to specifications.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to troubleshoot issues, optimize machining processes, and improve overall efficiency.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment for oneself and others.
  • Document production activities, including setup sheets, tooling lists, and inspection reports, to maintain traceability and quality records.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior machinists and apprentices, sharing knowledge and best practices to support their professional development.


Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in machining or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a CNC Machinist in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in CNC programming and setup, with experience using CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, SolidWorks).
  • Strong understanding of machining principles, tooling selection, and cutting parameters.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and GD&T specifications.
  • Experience with a variety of CNC machines, including mills, lathes, and multi-axis machining centers.
  • Proficient in the use of precision measuring tools (e.g., micrometers, calipers, height gauges) for in-process inspection.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to troubleshooting machining issues.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality components.
