A Busser, also known as a Food Runner, is in charge of arranging and clearing tables at a restaurant so that clients can enjoy a clean and orderly environment. They are responsible for removing used dishes, resetting silverware, and refilling diners' beverages.
Job Description
- After customers have finished eating, remove used plates, glasses, silverware, and napkins from tables.
- Cleaning up spilled water, food stains, and dirt on tables
- Tablecloths should be straightened or replaced if they are stained.
- In preparation for new guests, cutlery and glassware are being replaced.
- Refilling paper napkins, salt and pepper shakers, and any other condiments that have run out on the dining table Refilling water glasses
- If the waitstaff is busy, bringing out dinner orders; cleaning the dining room at the end of the day
Requirements
- Prior experience working in a fast paced, high end environment providing extraordinary guest experience
- Excellent service orientated attitude
- Excellent interpersonal skills to partner with colleagues under pressure.
- Perform work assignments with minimal supervision
- A high school diploma is required.
- Fluency in English language; additional language skills and knowledge preferred
- Prior experience in a high-volume restaurant/hotel preferred
- Must be able to stand for an 8-hour shift
- Lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds
- Bending, climbing, reaching, stooping, and moving fast without discomfort
- Must be able to work on nights, weekends, and holidays
