Job Description
Position: Shipping and Receiving Clerk
Department: Kitchen
Supervisor: Executive Chef/ Director of Food and Beverage, Purchasing and Receiving Agent
Supervises: n/a
Summary of Responsibilities:
The Shipping and Receiving Clerk is responsible for receiving, inspecting, storing, and maintaining all food and beverage purchases including products, equipment, supplies, materials, and other items needed.

Essential Functions:
- Promotes a positive work environment through effective communication and creating a warm and engaging atmosphere.
- Receives all food and beverage shipments including products, equipment, supplies, materials, and other items needed.
- Checks supplies in storeroom as delivered.
- Obtains supplies from delivery area.
- Opens packaged goods to inspect condition of contents.
- Checks goods against invoices noting cuts, sizes and quality of meats and freshness of vegetables before accepting delivery.
- Stores purchased goods properly.
- Issues goods in accordance with requisitions.
- Assists with inventory counts.
- Keeps walk-in, freezer and storeroom organized and clean.
- Keeps records of food coming in and going out.
- Rotates supplies.
- Drives company vehicles to run errands, shop for supplies.
- Drives staff shuttle for pick up and drop offs as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Executive Chef/Director of Food and Beverage and Purchasing and Receiving Agent.

Required Education/Experience:
- High School Graduate or equivalent
- 1 year related experience
- Food and Beverage experience highly preferred
- Must have experience using Microsoft products, especially Excel
Required Qualifications and / or certifications:
- Must have a reliable form of transportation
- Possess ability to handle pressure
- Ability to handle multiple tasks at once
- Must be a team player; possess the ability to work well with others
- Must be able to work mornings, evenings, weekends & holidays
- Must have a valid driver’s license
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:
- 50% sitting and 50% physically active
- Conditions in area are sometimes hot, cold, and humid; indoors and outdoors
- Occasionally lift objects weighing 50+ pounds, frequently lift objects weighing 15-20 pounds
- Utilization of both hands and arms
- Must be able to remain in a standing position for extended periods of time
- Constant walking and moving
- Frequently bend, stoop, climb, squat, and lift
