Job Description
Kimball Midwest, a national distributor of maintenance, repair, and operation products, is searching for an IT Architect Intern for our Columbus, OH location.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the documentation and analysis of the current software architecture.
  • Collaborate with software engineers and architects to understand system components and interactions.
  • Contribute to the development and deployment of the C4 model with diagrams representing the software architecture.
  • Participate in discussions to refine and improve the C4 model for better representation and understanding of the system.
  • Help integrate the C4 model into the software development lifecycle, ensuring its usability for various stakeholders.
  • Conduct research on best practices in software architecture documentation and modeling.
  • Assist in the creation of guidelines and standards for utilizing the C4 model within the organization.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of enrollment towards a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
  • General understanding of software architecture concepts and principles is preferred
  • Understanding of distributed systems (applications, services, databases, networks, etc.)
  • Familiarity with visualization tools such as LucidChart, Visio, or similar.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills.
