Job Description

Maintenance Technician Position Summary:

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining day-to-day operations and assumes responsibility for maintaining the physical asset of the property under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor.

Maintenance Technician Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for completion of all maintenance requests assigned in order of urgency
  • Schedule, coordinate, and complete the “Preventative Maintenance Program”
  • Repair and maintain plant machinery and equipment such as press breaks, conveyors, blasters, compressors, and blow mold machine
  • Repair or replace control devices such as switches, photo eyes, proximity sensors, push buttons, contactors, motor starters, etc., as needed
  • Maintain records on maintenance and repairs performed by the company and outside contractors
  • HVAC knowledge – replace filters and clean coils
  • Participate in plant safety, health, and environmental programs
  • Coordinates special projects as directed
  • Assist in monitoring all work being performed by outside contractors
  • Other duties as assigned

Maintenance Technician Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate)
  • An associate’s Degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance preferred
  • 4+ years of Maintenance experience in a production environment; strong hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and industrial skills with some PLC experience and HVAC experience

Maintenance Technician Other Essential Skills and Abilities:

  • Highly motivated with the ability to work independently
  • Must be able to lift and move objects up to 75 lbs. consistently
