Summary/Scope
Client requires senior EMS/SCADA Engineering vendor support, with broad familiarity and subject matter expertise across a set of Client’s SCADA real-time system upgrade implementations.


First is completing upgrade of GE’s RTU communication product Control from e-terraControl 3.8 to Control 3.10. Scope of this effort encompasses:


1) Configuration, testing of GE software. Integration testing with SCADA application servers and field RTU communication functions
2) From the Control application side, supporting migration of terminal server connection from the legacy front-end servers to upgraded front-end servers.
3) From the Control application side, supporting replacement of end-of-life terminal servers with new equipment.


Second is supporting the upgrade and migration of Client customs to GE’s SCADA products and Client custom applications hosted on our SCADA system from a Habitat v5.8/Platform v2.6 product environment to a Habitat v5.11/SCADA 3.3 product environment.


EMS Engineer with Habitat, Platform/SCADA, and Control experience, with RTU data acquisition and application configuration expertise, along with expertise in developing custom Habitat applications, C/C++, and object-oriented software development.


The consultant will work as part of a Client team of EMS engineers, IT and QA specialists; and will collaborate with the in-house team on all upgrade and migration activities, including the creation of designs, tests plans, and cut-over plans, and the implementation of these designs and plans.

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • 10 or more years’ experience with EMS application development, and a minimum of 5 years C++ EMS software development experience.
  • Strong user knowledge of GE Habitat environment, software and processes, specifically including e-terraHabitat v5.8, Habitat v5.11, e-terraPlatform v2.6, SCADA v3.3, and e-terraControl v3.8 and Control v3.10.
  • Experience with SCADA/RTU communication and protocols.
  • Strong user knowledge of Visual Studio C++ environment and language usage
  • Technically able and proficient in developing application designs and design documentation.
  • Technically able and proficient to read, write, modify and analyze C/C++ code in Visual Studio.
  • Technically able and proficient to create, modify and maintain C++ class based software
  • Experience with source code repositories and automated team workflow tools: experience with the GitHub application is preferred.



Proficiency in:
Working both collaboratively, professionally and independently
Prototyping processes quickly and formalizing best practices
Participating in agile work flow practices
Facilitating knowledge transfer to Client staff for ongoing continued operations and maintenance.
