FEFA LLC is seeking an Animal Care and Use Coordinator (ACUC) III to support our government partner in Rockville, MD area. This role entails coordinating and facilitating all aspects of animal care and use protocols. Responsibilities include administrative tasks, protocol management, database utilization, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, regulatory knowledge, and proficiency in computer applications.

Hours are 8am-4:30pm Monday - Friday

Primary duties may include the following:

  • Adhere to all NIAAA-OLAS SOP’s.
  • Support the NIAAA-DICBR Animal Care and Use Committee as the ACUC Coordinator.
  • Provide administrative support including scheduling, meeting minutes, notes, files, and calendars.
  • Assist with the submission, review, and amendment process for research protocols.
  • Distribute ACUC documents and maintain accurate records of distribution.
  • Coordinate protocol reviews and ACUC meetings.
  • Manage all protocol files, including meetings, semiannual program reviews, and annual renewals.
  • Utilize the ACUC electronic database system effectively.
  • Proficiently operate software tools such as Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, web browsers, and other relevant applications.
  • Conduct scientific literature searches to support protocol submissions.
  • Assist scientific staff throughout the entire protocol submission process.
  • Provide detailed information and draft reports for USDA compliance.
  • Ensure all ACUC members are compliant with policies and required trainings.
  • Develop necessary documents and forms for the ACUC.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Project Manager.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (5 years minimum).
  • Current AALAS certification at the LATG level.
  • Hold or able to obtain a CPIA certification within 1 year.
  • Background in regulatory compliance.
  • Previous experience as an Animal Care and Use Coordinator.
  • Previous experience working with animals.
  • Proficiently operate software tools such as Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, web browsers, and other relevant applications.
