Hygienist

Our private practice is looking for a motivated Dental Hygienist to join our growing team! The ideal candidate should have competent hygiene skill and interact with patients and team in a professional and kind manner. This position is part-time for now and will go into a full-time position. We are flexible on the days for part time Monday – Thursday Patient hours are from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Experience with Dentrix and Dexis is helpful. Salary is commensurate with experience. We are located near downtown St. Petersburg.

Duties and Responsibilities

Perform the duties of a dental hygienist, prophylaxis, periodontal maintenance, SRP’s, radiographs, intraoral photos, etc. Provide oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions. Keep the dental room clean and well -stocked, schedule appointments. Responsibilities and duties for a Dental Hygienist include:

· Welcome customers in the dental office

· Prepare patients for treatments or checkups ensuring their comfort

· Select and setup instruments, equipment and material needed

· Sterilize instruments according to regulations

· Screening patients during checkups

· Reviewing a patient’s dental health history

· Recommending care to improve a patient’s oral health

· Teaching patients about proper teeth cleaning techniques

· Performing preventative dental care

· Applying fluoride treatments

· Taking x-rays and reviewing them for signs of dental diseases

· Making sure your schedule patients keep their appointments
