SUMMARY:

The Server is responsible for the overall guest satisfaction, greeting and serving guests in co-ordinance of existing systems, policies, training, and departmental standards. The Server is expected to provide an exemplary dining experience for guests through prompt attentive service, timely communication with the Back of the House, deductive reasoning, problem solving, self-accountability, and thorough knowledge of the current menu, specials, and items out of stock. The server is expected to know, understand, and abide by established Company Policy, Departmental Procedures, and display comprehensive knowledge of the policies dictated in Title 31, proper cash handling, and the safe and responsible sale and service of alcohol. The server should also possess general understanding of food safety and sanitation procedures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to the following:

  • Sets up service areas according to restaurant guidelines.
  • Prepares all beverages and condiment needs as requested in a sanitary and timely manner.
  • Follows steps of service, meal pacing, and completes shift and closing side work according to the specifications as set by the F&B Director.
  • Immediately alerts a member of the Leadership team in the event of product shortage or quality issues.
  • Cleans and maintains service station through practicing food safety, sanitation, and organizational skills.
  • Practices proper cash handling methods, returns exact guest change, and properly remits all required documentation of credit card transactions, declaration of all gratuities, and all monies owed the Food and Beverage Department at the close of each shift.
  • Has understanding and knowledge to properly use and maintain all equipment used in the Front of the House.
  • Assists with the clearing and reset of tables in a timely and sanitary fashion.
  • Performs additional responsibilities, although not detailed, as requested by the F&B Management Team, at any time.
  • Keep all areas clean & sanitized as directed.
  • Maintain a regular and consistent attendance record.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum of 1 year full service Serving experience.
  • Food Handling Certificate, Alcohol Awareness Certification, and Cash handling experience required.
