Job Title: Parts Expeditor

Reports To: Parts Manager

Department: Parts (30), Non-Exempt

Location: Aynor

Summary of Primary Functions:
This position is responsible for insuring parts are provided to the service department on a timely basis, while also ensuring that the department is maintained to meet proper standards. This job description does not include a complete listing of all the duties and functions of the position. Management reserves the right to assign other duties or projects as necessary.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. (Other duties may be assigned)
  • Removes parts from stock as required to fill service department work orders
  • Assists with parts sales to customers
  • Answers telephone in parts department to assist customers
  • Ensures parts are placed in inventory to insure accurate availability
  • Ensures proper housekeeping standards are maintained
  • Follows proper procedures in performing duties in the parts department
  • Follows established safety guidelines in the department
  • Assists with other duties in the department as needed
  • Assists with cycle counts to ensure accuracy of inventory

Qualifications: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
  • Valid Drivers License
  • Forklift Certification
  • Parts experience
  • Customer Service experience
Education, Skill, and/or Experience Requirements:
  • One-year certificate from a college or technical school; or three to six years related experience and/or training
  • Organization and communication skills must be highly developed.
  • Computer skills need to be broad based.
Language Skills:
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Mathematical Skills:
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra, statistics, and geometry.
Reasoning Ability:
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in a warehouse setting and is exposed to frequently changing temperatures, wet or humid conditions, noise, vibration, fumes, odors, dust, and close proximity to moving mechanical parts.

Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here represent those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is continuously required to:
  • Ability to work using Personal Protective Equipment, including respirators, welding shields, hard hats, vests, safety glasses, goggles, gloves and etc.
  • Ability to use full range of motion for back, arms, hands, and fingers.
  • Able to use full range of motion for both legs, including climbing, twisting, squatting, and pushing with both legs.
  • Able to use hand tools, fuel hoses, lubrication systems on all equipment
  • Able to climb onto or down from mobile construction equipment, typically 3-4 feet of climbing, for service and inspection.
  • The employee is frequently required to lift or carry loads greater than 50 lbs but less than 75 lbs.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance and color vision.
  • The employee is regularly required to talk or hear at moderate noise levels.
