Solid Works Drafter

Position: Solidworks Drafter – Product Designer

Seeking highly skilled, self-motivated Solidworks drafter for our Engineering team.

Under general supervision, applies skills and knowledge in procedures and techniques to prepare mechanical design and complex assemblies in support of engineering function. Position is involved in the evaluation and modification of existing production drawings and assembly instructions as needed. Also capable of reverse engineering a part to determine design function, material to be used and production procedure.

Duties and Responsibilities

· Create and modify detailed drawings using SolidWorks software from sketches, layouts, actual parts or notes.

· Check drawings for correctness and conformance to standards.

· Ability to assemble, within SolidWorks, complex mechanical systems.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

· Expertise in geometric design and tolerance principles.

· Experience with Solidworks.

· Proficient with Microsoft Office, primarily Excel and Word.

· Proficient with the use of precision mechanical instruments (calipers, dial gages, CMM, etc).

· Strong computer skills required include spreadsheets, presentations, 3D CAD 

· Must have good organizational, time-management skills and ability to work on multiple projects at once.

· Communicate effectively with engineers, drafters, and others within the company as needed.

· Knowledgeable of parts manufactured in a machine shop facility (CNC lathe, milling, break press, laser cutting, tool & die, etc

Education and Experience

· Experience with SolidWorks design software
