Summary of Position

The District Manager provides leadership and direction to all staff in a district (case specialists, clerical, supervisors, and attorney staff) in order to ensure individual, district, and project goals are met and that child support cases proceed through the child support processes timely, accurately, and with excellent customer service. The District Manager will work closely and take direction from a Project Manager, a Regional Manager or both. Follows all YoungWilliams and State policies and procedures.

Essential Job Requirements

  • Plans, organizes, defines, and reviews work and workflow of individual staff and the District to ensure child support cases progress timely, accurately, and with excellent customer service
  • Collaborates with Management to set goals and expectations for staff
  • Evaluates performance, identifies training needs, provides feedback, coaches and counsels staff
  • Holds all staff accountable for their actions or lack of action
  • Proactively identifies problems and implements solutions to current and long-term issues with consultation with Management
  • Receives, evaluates, and resolves customer complaints using excellent customer service and documenting all actions, requests input from Management when appropriate
  • Works with Management to develop policy and procedures for daily operations
  • Assists in conducting quality control reviews of all District staff
  • Maintains a positive working relationship with YoungWilliams, State, DFS, and other government agency personnel
  • Attends and participates in Management meetings as required
  • Prepares for and conducts office meetings on a regular basis, at least monthly
  • Provides necessary statistics (timely and accurately) to Project Manager for the completion of any required reports
  • Posts individual and District statistics monthly for all staff to see
  • Manages staff and works with Project Manager to ensure all actions are taken within established federal, state and contractual time frames, and makes changes if not meeting them
  • Accountable for key performance metrics of the district including staffing.
  • Analysis issues and promptly reports to Project Manager any issues that may need further attention
  • Works closely with Staff Attorney so that all necessary legal and/or administrative documents are prepared according to guidelines and federal and state policies and procedures as well as contractual requirements
  • Works closely Project Human Resources to ensure all HR related compliance and polices are followed
  • Contacts YoungWilliams, State DHS Child Support staff, local IV-D offices, Clerks of Court, and other appropriate individuals/agencies in regards to child support related issues as needed
  • Oversees performing community outreach activities and is responsible establishing and maintaining good community relations
  • Is responsible for the confidentiality and security of all case information
  • Must be able to travel up to 10%
  • Regular and timely attendance.
  • Performs other duties as may be assigned by Management

Required Education

Bachelor’s in a related field (i.e., Criminal Justice, Human Services, Psychology) or equivalent work experience on a year for year basis.


Required Experience

Two years supervisory experience or experience in a leadership capacity, and child support experience preferred
