Job Title: Branch Manager
Department: Branch Operations
Reports To: Regional Manager
Classification: Exempt Nonexempt
Summary
The Branch Manager is responsible for the administration and efficient operations of the assigned branch office, including operations, lending, product sales, customer services and security in accordance with the financial institution’s goals and objectives.
Supervisor Responsibilities
This position supervises Branch Operations Staff at the assigned branch location. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. All supervisory responsibilities are carried out in accordance with the financial institution’s policies and applicable laws.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for and serves as the primary facilitator of the loan growth and deposit growth of the branch.
- Leads and establishes business development and calling effort within the branch.
- Actively participates and assists institution personnel in attaining individual and financial institution profit sharing goals.
- Directs financial institution personnel in activities to ensure prompt, accurate, and dependable customer service.
- Provides superior level of customer relations and promotes the sales and service culture through coaching, guidance and staff motivation.
- Provides and maintains a professional business-like atmosphere within the branch office by providing exceptional leadership, training and supervision.
- Delegates day-to-day operations and responsibilities to other staff for smooth working and high profitability.
- Demonstrates the financial institution’s commitment to the community by actively participating in community activities to enhance the bank’s image and develop new and existing business opportunities.
- Assists in opening and closing the branch facility.
- Complies with all bank policies and ensures all legal and regulatory requirements are being met.
- Reviews staff members for performance evaluations and recommends salary adjustments. Counsels employees when needed. Coordinates staff training as needed.
- Handles customer problems and complaints; counsels customers with special needs or requests.
- Responsible for maintaining office building, grounds, equipment and fixtures.

Job Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a financial institution.
- Excellent verbal and communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills, resulting in the ability to interact with all levels of employees within the organization.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment, accurately identify and proactively resolve potential problems.
- Possess extensive knowledge and familiarity of banking products and services.
- Maintains a thorough understanding of financial institution policies and procedures and banking regulations.
