Summary

JOB SUMMARY

The Critical Resource Nurse (CCRN) is a member of the Nursing Dept. The CCRN has responsibility and accountability for the provision of nursing care. The CCRN manages care for patients and their families through the application of the nursing process uses independent judgment, collaboration and communication with all team members including ancillary and support services. implemented . The CCRN provides and delegates patient care activities based upon patient needs and team skills/abilities and supervises the delivery of care by the team. The CCRN evaluates patient response to treatment and nursing interventions, as needed, revised the plan of care. The CCRN monitors patient progress and prepares patient for discharge. The CCRN is an RN with a minimum of four years of CCU experience with AACRN accreditation and or MSN. The CCRN will work in collaboration with the CCU Intensivist and CCU PCC to assist the Critical Outreach Team by responding to all in hospital COT's, Codes and Stroke Alerts and be a "champion" of these processes. The CCRN will assist and support the quality department staff as assigned. The CCRN will assist in the cardiovascular lab.

REQUIREMENTS
  • Required Associate's Degree
  • Preferred Bachelor's Degree
  • 4-7 years Completion of coursework of accredited nursing school. Required
  • ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support
  • CPR - AHA Healthcare Provider
  • RN - Registered Nurse
  • CCRN - Certified Critical Care Nurse
  • NIHSS - National Stroke Assoc NIH Stroke Scale
  • PALS - PALS

SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS

The CCRN will assist with the Cardiovascular Lab on-call. Carroll Hospital Center is a minimal-lift facility which means that any moving or lifting of patients must be done with appropriate equipment and/or techniques taught through the Safe Lift program. Appropriate equipment or techniques must be used.
