SUMMARY

The Semi-Truck Driver is responsible for delivery and pick-up, reporting, operations, service, safety and maintenance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

(Includes the following and other duties may be assigned).

Responsible for:

  • Timely and efficient delivery of product.
  • Loading and unloading of product.
  • Maintenance and repairs of the semi-truck and reporting any issues to management.
  • Maintaining records of all deliveries.
  • Adherence to safety policies.
  • Providing a high level of customer service.
  • Promoting and adhering to the company Core Values of honesty, integrity & teamwork.
  • Adhering to cooperative credit policy.
  • Securing facilities and equipment when closing.
  • Promptly and regularly report to work and work overtime hours as needed.
  • Present a clean and professional appearance.
  • Employee is required to perform all other duties as directed.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Must have a High School Diploma or 3-5 years of previous experience with diverse agribusiness firms that include grain, feed, fertilizer, and farm supply operations. Must have basic computer operation experience. Must be willing to seek out and attend additional continuing education, seminars, classes, or other job-related education requirements or opportunities.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as distance, mileage, and weights.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATIONS

Commercial Driver’s License (Class A required with Air Brake, Tanker, and Haz-Mat endorsements) with a safe driving record.

REASONING ABILITY

The ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Able to deal with problems with several concrete variables in standard situations. Must be able to think quickly and perform a mental assessment of workplace hazards, take appropriate precautions, and choose appropriate PPE as dictated by need, regulation and labeling.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

The noise level in this work environments is usually loud (although not believed to exceed the eight-hour threshold for working in or around loud equipment).
