Summary:

A Tack Truck Driver operates an asphalt distributor truck that applies specialized emulsions to pavement prior to asphalt paving.

Duties and Responsibilities:

* Must have a clean driving record,

* Must be able to demonstrate safe operation of assigned equipment based on changing operating conditions with an emphasis on backing up,

* Must be able to drive and operate a distributor truck equipped with a tank to spray asphalt emulsions on road surfaces in accordance with contract specifications,

* Driver must be able to apply their experience and judgment to make decisions within their limit of authority,

* Responsible for operating the truck in a safe appropriate manner, including the loading process,

* Responsible for keeping the vehicle in a clean state,

* Ability to read and interpret the equipment operator's manual,

* Work in inclement weather including snow details,

* Perform minor repairs to the vehicle or report to a supervisor,

* Perform daily safety checks,

* Ability to work in areas of uneven terrain and reduced room for maneuvering,

* Assist in training new drivers,

* Understand and execute different emulsions,

* May be required to work extended hours including evenings, nights, and weekends,

* Additional duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

* Commercial driver's license (CDL) B with N tanker endorsement required,

* Applicants must be able to operate Manual Transmission vehicles,

* Must possess two (2 ) years of experience as an Asphalt Distributor operator,

* Must have an acceptable driving record,

* Must communicate effectively with job site supervisors and fellow employees,

* High School Diploma or GED required,

* COVID-19 vaccination is highly recommended,

* Must be able to successfully pass a background and drug screening.
