NorthStone Country Club is looking for a team of Banquet Servers for our events department. We focus on weddings, corporate meetings, and other large-scale events, while providing a full banquet and catering menu.

Job Description:

The Banquet Server performs all tasks associated with setting up, serving, and breaking down of function rooms where banquet food service activities are performed. He / She is responsible for the prompt, courteous, smooth, and efficient service of food and beverage to guests during banquet and outdoor functions.

Additionally, work as a team to follow through with the proper and timely set-up and execution of banquet events.

Compensation

$5.00 per hour, plus service charge and tips. Benefits for full time employees include medical, dental, vacation, sick time, and 401k. Vacation begins accruing immediately, available for use after 60 days of employment. Medical and dental is available after 60 days after employment. After 1 year of employment, 401k is available on January 1st or July 1st.

Banquet Server responsibilities:
  • Attends pre-service (line-up) sessions.
  • Review and understand Banquet Event Orders (BEO's) or Event Plan at the beginning of each shift to ensure banquet rooms are set as per the customer request.
  • Read and execute specifications listed on the Banquet Event Orders.
  • Prepare tables, stations, buffets, service carts and dessert tables as stated in Banquet Event Order.
  • Maintaining proper dining experience, delivering items, fulfilling customer needs, removing courses, replenishing utensils, refilling glasses.
  • Have a good understanding and able to communicate products and service-related query to guests when asked.
  • Replenish buffet items to ensure consistency and freshness in presentation.
  • Remove china, glassware, silverware, etc. from tables at the conclusion of the meal period.
  • Ensure guest satisfaction throughout the meal service.
  • Respond to guest requests in a friendly, timely, and efficient manner.
  • Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of assigned station and service areas.
  • Ensure proper use and storage of all meeting room & event equipment.
  • Communicate any areas of need, problems, and concerns from guest to Banquet Manager.
  • Complete other appropriate assignments made by the Banquet and Catering Manager, Food and Beverage Manager, or supervisor.
  • At the end of the event, ensure that rooms are re-set for next event.
  • Adhere to grooming and appearance standards consistently.
  • Assist fellow team members and other departments wherever necessary to maintain positive working relationships.


Requirements

Education and/or Experience
  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • The ability to read, write and execute basic math skills.
  • Prior banquet or wait service experience is preferred.


Physical Demands and Work Environment
  • Required to stand for long periods and walk, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, stretch and twist or reach.
  • Push, pull or lift up-to 50 pounds.
  • Continuous repetitive motions.
  • Work in hot, humid, and noisy environment.
