HOST/HOSTESS | RESTAURANT WELCOME ENTHUSIAST
**FULL TIME AND PART TIME OPPORTUNITIES**
**Position Summary:**
Responsible for greeting guests upon arrival and providing a positive first impression of the restaurants friendliness and quality service to guests. Also responsible for maintaining a cash bank and following the cash handling procedures of the outlet.
**Essential Functions:**
1. Greets guest upon entering the restaurant and assists guests while on a waiting list in the time limit specified in the outlet standards.
2. Escorts guests as soon as possible to appropriate table. Offers assistance if necessary.
3. Performs reservations responsibilities and maintains seating assignment charts.
4. Arranges for a booster seat or high chair as needed.
5. Notifies manager of any guest that is perceived to be unhappy.
6. Bids farewells to guests as they leave. Invite them to return.
7. Keep host/hostess station clean and organized. Ensure all menus are clean.
8. Restocks necessary supplies.
9. Perform shift change and/or closing duties.
10. Answers telephone and answers questions accordingly.
11. Keeps immediate supervisor promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance.
12. Assist servers with cashiering. Maintain accurate exchange of currency.
13. Maintains check control system according to standards. Notifies supervisor immediately of any suspicious or incorrectly handled guest checks.
14. Takes room service orders as per outlet standards.
15. Assists busperson or server with rearranging seating areas for special or large parties.
16. Assists busperson or server with light cleaning duties as required.
17. Assists server with sidework including but not limited to sorting and production of service sideware, rollups or displays.
**Additional Responsibilities:**
- Adhere to all work rules, procedures and policies established by the hotel, including, but not limited to, those contained in the employee handbook.
- The hotel operates 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. Department schedules must accommodate fluctuating business demands and employees may be asked to work shifts other than those they prefer or normally work.
**Skills and Abilities:**
- Ability to stand for a long period of time.
- Good oral communication skills.
