Blazer Jobs is currently seeking an experienced Physical Therapist to join our team for a full-time school-based role in Warsaw, VA. Requirements:

  • Must meet all requirements set by local and state regulations for Physical Therapists
  • Experience with special education students and families is highly preferred

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Assessment: Conduct comprehensive evaluations of students' physical abilities, including mobility, strength, and coordination, to identify areas of need and develop individualized treatment plans.
  2. Treatment Planning: Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans to address students' physical therapy goals, utilizing a variety of therapeutic techniques and modalities.
  3. Intervention: Provide direct physical therapy services to students, including therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, gait training, and assistive device training, as appropriate.
  4. Collaboration: Collaborate with school personnel, parents, and other healthcare providers to integrate physical therapy services into students' educational programs and ensure continuity of care.
  5. Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of evaluation findings, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries, in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  6. Goal Setting: Establish measurable goals and objectives for therapy interventions, regularly monitoring progress and adjusting treatment plans as needed to maximize outcomes.
  7. Education: Provide education and training to students, families, and school staff on strategies to promote physical independence, prevent injury, and facilitate participation in school activities.
  8. Equipment Management: Recommend and prescribe appropriate adaptive equipment and assistive devices to support students' functional mobility and participation in the school environment.
  9. Crisis Intervention: Offer support and intervention to students experiencing physical or emotional challenges, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to address complex needs.
  10. Professional Development: Engage in ongoing professional development activities to stay current with best practices in pediatric physical therapy and enhance clinical skills.
