Lab Technician

Our client, a fortune 500 company, is looking for a Lab Technician, for a 12 month contract,  As a Engineering Lab Technician,  you will support product developers in the process of qualifying products, conducting product testing and competitive analysis, developing products, establishing test methods and equipment, prototyping product concepts or fixtures, and performing laboratory experiments.

Job Title: Lab Technician 

Location: Maplewood MN 100% onsite

Pay Range: $18 to $23 p/h w-2 depending upon experience

What’s the Job?

• Independently conduct tasks and tests in a laboratory setting, utilizing computer software to analyze data, draw conclusions, and document findings.
• Collaborate with development and manufacturing engineers to perform product testing on existing product lines, addressing manufacturing or product-related issues, conducting audits, and documenting analysis.
• Assist engineers in scaling up and qualifying production parts, creating product claims, developing test methods, and drafting specification documents.
•  Operate and understand laboratory equipment for product testing and test method development.
• Record observations and data in spreadsheets and technical notebooks, analyze data, and generate final reports and summaries. Communicate test results to relevant individuals and project teams.
• • Contribute to product development initiatives by prototyping new product ideas or modifying existing products.
• • Maintain and operate basic hand tools, power tools, and workshop equipment. Perform routine laboratory tasks such as shipping and storing customer samples.

What’s Needed?

• Bachelors degree and  1 year of laboratory experience
  OR
• Two-year associate degree (2 year degree) or equivalent experience + Minimum of 2 years of laboratory experience
• Basic skills  set with data collection and analysis (MS Office Suite: Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately and strong organizational and time management skills.
