Position Overview: An Audiologist, or Hearing Doctor, is a medical professional who specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of balance disorders, hearing loss and related issues in children and adults. Their duties include completing hearing exams, fitting, adjusting and maintaining patients' hearing aids and providing treatment for balance disorders.


Essential Functions

  • Provides rehabilitative audiological services. Administers and interprets audiological tests, develops a treatment plan, and establishes goals for each patient. Monitors progress of recommendations and treatment plans and reassesses as appropriate.
  • Calibrates equipment, prepares related reports, and maintains the audiological suite, materials, and supplies.
  • Communicates with patient and family and provides counseling when appropriate.
  • Provides case management services and makes client referrals to other social or health service agencies.
  • Logs procedures and submits charges to the department secretary for submission to the billing department.
  • Writes evaluation reports and daily progress notes on a timely basis.
  • Maintains state-of-the-art knowledge in field of audiology. Prepares and presents in-service education to staff and the community.
  • Assists in implementing and monitoring the departments quality assurance program.
  • Assists in supervising student interns.
Requirements:

Qualifications – Required

  • Masters degree or equivalent in audiology.
  • Current license or eligibility for licensing as an audiologist.
  • Certified or certification eligible by the American Speech and Hearing Association.
  • Ability to communicate with patients about sensitive topics
  • Ability to work with other medical professionals as needed to diagnose and treat patients

Physical Demand/Work Environment

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.


Compensation details: 40-47 Hourly Wage
