Biomed Behavioral Healthcare, PC is a leader in providing professional, competent and compassionate services to help chemically dependent individuals with co-occurring disorders related to behavioral health attain and maintain their highest possible functioning capacity. Started in 1999, the vision of the program is to provide innovative and comprehensive services that promote maximum patient rehabilitation resulting in them once again becoming productive members of the community. Biomed is a privately held company with a current workforce of over 70 people operating in two locations with continued plans to grow.

We continue to make significant investments in the future of our patients and employees and we are looking to bring in the best key leaders to drive results as we continue to expand in support of our communities. We are looking for the right candidates to be part of our team and collectively work towards accomplishing both current and future patient/company objectives.

The essential duties include but are not limited to the following:

Patient Advocacy and Support/Patient-Focused Care:

● Greet patients warmly, creating a welcome, non-judgmental atmosphere in-person as well as through telephone and/or electronic communication.

● Maintain a friendly and professional demeanor at all times.

● Anticipate and address patients' needs proactively. Providing compassionate support and actively listening to patient concerns and needs. Assisting with any questions and/or requests related to their concerns and needs.

● Offer guidance and resources for patient support programs and community services.

Reception/Administrative Assistance:

● Manage patient check-ins, appointments and inquiries in a courteous and efficient manner.

● Maintain an organized front office area, to include the waiting room, to create a positive first impression for patients including ensuring facility cleanliness (including patient restrooms when necessary through hourly monitoring).

● Assist in managing patient records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with applicable regulations

● Handle incoming calls and emails with professionalism and empathy, directing inquiries to the appropriate team members.

● Schedule appointments, confirm appointments and provide reminders to patients as necessary.

● Assist with visitor sign-in/out.

● Assist with filing necessary documentation in patient records electronically and/or physically when necessary.

Security and Safety:

● Maintain a secure environment by monitoring clinic entrances and exits

● Enforce clinic security policies and procedures, ensuring the safety of patients and staff

● Handle any disruptive situations calmly and professionally, seeking peaceful resolutions utilizing verbal de-escalation skills.

● Collaborate with law enforcement if necessary, while prioritizing patient well-being and maintaining patient confidentiality according to HIPAA & 42 CFR guidelines.

Medical Staff Assistance:

● Facilitate the urinalysis collection process.

● Ensure the urinalysis supplies are well-maintained and stocked.

● Collaborate with the medical team to support efficient patient flow.

● Assist with the vital sign measurements as needed.

● Assist medical staff with administrative tasks as needed, such as appointment scheduling, record-keeping and coordinating care with community partners.

● Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA/42 CFR guidelines when handling sensitive patient information.

Team Collaboration:

● Work closely with colleagues to ensure smooth transitions between roles and a harmonious clinic operation. Participate in regular team meetings to discuss patient feedback, process improvements and clinic goals.

Job Requirements:

● High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications or training in healthcare, security or customer service a plus

● Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with diverse populations

● Empathy, patience with a compassionate and non-judgmental attitude and approach

● Strong problem-solving abilities and the ability to remain calm under pressure

● Attention to detail and strong organizational skills

● Basic knowledge of medical terminology and procedures

● Full-time position with a rotating schedule that includes occasional weekends

● Knowledge of HIPAA/42 CFR regulations and the ability to maintain patient confidentiality

● Basic computer skills for data entry and electronic health record management

● Willingness to work on a team and adapt to changing roles throughout the day

● Demonstrated commitment to client advocacy and a patient-friendly approach

● This position requires standing, walking and sitting for extended periods

● Ability to work in a healthcare environment that may involve exposure to sensitive and emotional situations; Ability to handle sensitive situations with discretion and professionalism.
