CNC Programmer 2

Job Summary

The CNC Programmer 2 Creates programs for numerical control machines using GibbsCam and/or Esprit CAM software to cut workpieces to specifications

Job Duties and Responsibilities

· Develop programs for parts for multi axis machines using provided software

· Design work holding fixtures and build 3-D models

· Set-up and operate production machines such as Haas and Matsuura Vertical mills, DMG Mori universal Turn machines and Tsugami screw machine

· Test run new programs prior to full production runs and make corrections as needed

· Create setup sheets to aid CNC operators in setting up machines

· Inspect and measure machined workpieces to verify conformance to specifications using measuring instruments, such as calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, and gauges

· Read and follow blueprints, sketches, drawings, and work instructions to fabricate products

· Perform preventative maintenance on equipment

· Keep accurate record of labor hours performed

· Follow all safety rules and procedures

· Assist in production of parts, maintenance or repair of machines, building maintenance

· Perform other duties as assigned

Skills and Qualifications

· Prior CNC machine setup and operation experience required

· 3 year of programming experience required

· Able to create geometry from 2-D drawings and/or 3-D models.

· Must have good knowledge of G and M code functions

· Must be detailed orientated, organized, able to multitask and work in a noisy and fast paced environment

· Must have strong verbal and written communication skills

· Team player
