Paradigm is searching for a Drafter ready to support our client, an engineering firm specializing in telecommunications and providing network planning and engineering services connected to the deployment of fiber optic infrastructure. This is an entry-level role with on-site training. The ideal candidate is excited to join a team working on projects across the United States, supporting clients from initial design, through permitting and construction.
Type: 6 month contract-to-hire
Location: Vancouver, WA | Onsite

As a Drafter, you will:
- Work with a team to draft detailed drawings and design layouts for installing fiberoptic line in new residential neighborhoods
- Draft, update, and maintain detailed dimensional drawings and design layouts for fiberoptic line projects using proprietary software and programs like AutoCAD and MicroStation
- Develop and maintain a working knowledge of telecommunications, infrastructural, design, structural, mechanical, and electrical materials and methods commonly used in telecom construction
- Investigate and recommend procedures to maintain and improve product quality
- Remain informed of trends in layout and construction, and recommend their use where appropriate
- Assist the team with drafting updates as required
Requirements
Our skills and experience wish list includes:
- Associates Degree in drafting preferred
- 1-2 years’ experience is preferable
- Experience with AutoCAD or Microstation drafting programs
- Good attention to detail
- An interest in the big picture – to learn about the technology and systems that they are working on
