Join Our Team:

At Airspace, the Finance team, which includes the billing function, is a pivotal force in driving cross-functional collaboration and ensuring the integrity of business operations! We're looking for a skilled Billing Expert with experience in the industry. This person will report into our Operational Accounting Manager and will lead our efforts to take on new, exciting, and complex customer billing projects and will advise the VP of Accounting and the CFO on strategies and practices to ensure that billing is accurate and customers are satisfied with their invoicing experience as we scale rapidly. This opportunity offers a broad scope of work ranging from ensuring smooth daily operations to spearheading cross-departmental initiatives to improve the overall billing experience!

• Voice of the Customer: Become a true partner with the customer, understanding their operational needs and the implications those needs will have on the billing process. Join meetings with high-value prospective and current customers and those that may require unique billing structures to develop a rich understanding of the customers' processes
• Strategic Liaison: Leverage this partnership to act as a key connector between the Airspace Billing team and the Customer, applying your interpersonal & analytical skills as well as your industry understanding to develop trust, and to ensure the billing process is executed smoothly and in accordance with both customer expectations and Airspace's capabilities.
• Topical Expert: Develop and augment Airspace's understanding of billing processes and standards in cross-border Air Freight, especially in industries like manufacturing, high-tech, automotive, and aerospace & defense. Strong candidates will bring a clear understanding of market terminology, best practices, structures, etc., and will help upskill the broader organization
• Solutions Builder: Based on the customers' requirements and our system capabilities, build & maintain innovative tooling to accurately and comprehensively account for billing nuances
• Manage cross-functional projects: Much of the building and maintenance of these tools will require substantial cross-functional work with Operations, Account Management, Product, and more; strong candidates will develop project plans, establish clear goals & target outcomes, and work to ensure smooth collaboration across internal teams

• Experience: At least 2 years in billing-related positions in a client-facing role (or a role with significant direct client exposure) working in logistics (specifically in air freight)
• Proactive and Detail-Oriented: A self-motivated individual with a keen eye for detail and will display a track record of strong planning and process management
• Communication: Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills; comfortable working with senior business partners on a daily basis
• Analytical capabilities: Experience with Microsoft Office / Google Suite and comfort using data to complete analyses, drive recommendations, and provide executive-level reporting; experience with Looker and SQL preferred
• Technical capabilities: Experience with Netsuite preferred
• Project Management / Leadership: While the role does not currently have a management element, strong applicants will have experience working in teams & demonstrating leadership, teamwork, and project management to ensure cross-functional projects are executed seamlessly
• Continuous Learner: Eager to learn new technologies, methods, and approaches to problem-solving. Demonstrated experience quickly picking up and mastering new tools.
