Position Summary

The Early Learning Integrated Services Coordinator is a full-time, grant funded position supporting the Letcher Promise Neighborhood initiative.  Reporting to the Early Learning Program Manager, the Integrated Services Coordinator (ISC) works to ensure effective implementation of integrated services within this critical area of the cradle to career continuum. The ISC supervises a team of Student Success Navigators and Family Navigators and assists with on-site staff training. During the term, the ISC coordinates the integration of outreach and wraparound services such as wellness, family engagement, safety, community service and student leadership. The ISC will collaborate with other school and grant staff to ensure a continuum that provides integrated services to all youth with no resource or age gaps. In addition, the ISC, working with the Student Success Navigators will monitor school plans and make necessary program adjustments to integrated services as called for by ongoing data analysis. The Early Learning Integrated Services Coordinator will work to achieve the result All Rural Students Succeed.


Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of the Promise Neighborhood (PN) results and objectives
  • Work with student success navigators to support student achievement toward PN target and results
  • Manage a portion of the PN federal budget and ensure that all expenditures are allowable and within the scope of work
  • Ensure that required documentation and records of services are collected and filed appropriately
  • Collaborate with other members of the PN team to ensure the effective delivery of services along the PN pipeline
  • Provide leadership while working collaboratively with the school principal to implement the comprehensive program plan
  • Assess needs of students, families, and school and evaluate the impact of the PN program on these groups as well as continually modify services to best meet needs
  • Communicate the PN mission and vision to community, parents, staff, and students


Position Location & Schedule 

The Integrated Services Coordinator will be located primarily in Letcher County, KY or Jenkins Independent Schools. Local, state, and sometimes national travel required.   This position may be considered for hybrid work.

  

Normal business hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Because of the nature of the responsibility to schools, partners, funders, and to the service region, individual offices or departments may have operating hours that extend beyond this period and may include evening and/or weekend hours. 


Minimum Qualifications


Education required to ensure success in this position:

  • Bachelor's degree in education or related field


Experience required to ensure success in this position:

  • Background in the supervision and training of personnel
  • Experience working within and coordinating programs within rural schools and communities 
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate a multi-faceted program


Special skills, knowledge and abilities:

  • Demonstrated understanding of Promise Neighborhood initiative
  • Understanding of first generation, low-income youth and families
  • Commitment to students from diverse economic, social and cultural backgrounds
  • Strong desire to develop innovative approaches to meet outcomes
  • Demonstrated proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications, Adobe, data processing & financial spreadsheets
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships and work collaboratively with others 
  • Event planning experience
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills


License, certification, or registration necessary:

  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Ability to successfully complete pre-employment background check


Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work within a high energy office
  • Ability to accurately communicate and exchange information with partners, stakeholders, and/or meeting participants
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 20 lbs.
  • Ability to travel independently by car and plane to eastern Kentucky, statewide sites, and nationally


Environmental conditions:

  • Work in a fast-paced setting with frequent interruptions and shifting priorities
  • Periodic to travel to meetings and events


Ability to operate the following vehicles or equipment:

  • Standard Office Equipment: computer, fax, phone,
  • Motor Vehicle (as needed)
