Plant Operator

Job Summary:

Is responsible for the unloading, routing, and processing of incoming waste material from Branch route trucks. Is responsible for various Plant functions including material transfers, waste testing/check-in. Is responsible for loading outbound trailers/tankers to rail sites, 3rd Party Disposal Facilities, HCC locations and/or customer locations.

Reporting Relationship:

Reports directly to the Plant Supervisor and/or the Facility Manager, as applicable.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Responsible for working safely in all job aspects and functions
• Promotes and fosters safety and efficiency in all Plant employees and activity
• Takes direction from Plant Supervisor and/or Facility Manager, as applicable
• Unloads waste material from inbound tankers in accordance with Company rules and regulations
• Verifies inbound and outbound shipments are consistent with paperwork and all applicable regulatory designations (EPA, DOT)
• Samples inbound waste loads and tanks as needed
• Performs laboratory tests including pH, Chlor-d-tect, Flashpoint, Freezepoint and Cl testing
• Verifies inbound wastes are routed to the appropriate storage tanks
• Loads outbound waste trailers/tankers for third party disposal (loader/waste checking)
• Performs other duties as may be assigned including facility upkeep, cleaning and maintenance
• Measures and monitors tank levels to ensure proper inventory tracking as well as to avoid tank overflows
• Assists other Operators/Coworkers in all work including but not limited to loading, unloading, sampling, paperwork and analysis as needed

Education, Certificates, Licenses, Designations or Memberships

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Mechanical or Electrical Knowledge Preferred

Must be willing to undergo a background check in accordance with local laws and regulations
