Our Kentucky division, located in Mount Sterling, KY, seeks Secondary/Finishing Operators.

Summary

The Secondary/Finishing Operator will be responsible for producing parts by operating various machines, as well as the inspection and packaging of those parts. The successful candidate will be committed to the highest level of integrity, trust and responsibility and bring a hands-on approach to day to day operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform machine operation in accordance with job instructions and check sheets.
  • Maintain production levels in accordance with the job instructions.
  • Ensure all safety devices are in proper placement before operating any equipment.
  • Applies safe work place practices in material handling and machine operation.
  • Inspect and pack parts per instructions and customer requirements.
  • Keep machines in good working order and perform preventive maintenance as required.  
  • Inform Manager of quality issues.
  • Ensure that the scales are kept in good condition to ensure accurate weight count.
  • Input production data into the ERP system.
  • Communicate to Manager any problem areas and deficiencies, so corrective actions may be taken.
  • Assist with the training of new Machine Operators as required.
  • Attend training activities as required.
  • Participate in continuous improvement teams as required.
  • Participate in safety and OSHA training.
  • Keep work area clean and tidy at all times.
  • Work in an organized manner with attention to details.
  • Accurate recording of time including time-clock, job activities, and other data entry.
  • Regular and punctual attendance at work.

Qualifications, Education and Experience

  • Graduation from high school or receipt of equivalent degree (GED).
  • Experience working with machines in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
